Highlights of the Ludwig Collection

Curators tour through the exhibition with Dr. Annette Lagler
In German.

08.03.18,18:00

The works of the Ludwig Collection lead through the epochs of the 1960s to the 2000s. They assemble artists from different nations and make the Ludwig Forum an inspiring and lively place for dialogue with and about art. In the inner rooms, in the courtyard and in the adjacent park, sculptures and installations can be seen that testify to the great variety and exceptional quality of the Ludwig Collection. The entrance to the main hall is dominated by the monumental bronze sculpture Brandenburger Tor – Weltfrage by the painter and sculptor Jörg Immendorff. It is one of the artist’s major works and symbolizes the time of the Cold War and the German-German division.

The icons of American art from Pop Art to the hyperrealism of the 1960s and 1970s include works by Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Duane Hanson and Chuck Close.
