As part of her exhibition Ooooooooo-pus<\/em>, Katalin Ladik will return to Aachen on November 19, 2023 and will activate her work Follow Me into Mythology<\/em> (2017), which is currently on display in the exhibition. The textile work was originally conceived as a score for a performance that took place in 2017 in the context of documenta 14 at the Megaron concert hall in Athens, and takes the mythological figure of Ariadne as a starting point to question the contradictions and complexities of the female principle and established gender roles.<\/div>

Katalin Ladik (born 1942 in Novi Sad) is a poet, visual artist and actress. Her visual and acoustic poetry, performances and body art are based on the intermedial reinterpretation of body and language, sound and visuality. Since the late 1970s she has been involved in several international exhibitions, most recently at Manifesta 14 in Pristina (2022), documenta 14 in Kassel and Athens (2017), Shedhalle Zurich (2018) at IVAM Valencia (2019). Her works can be found in the collections of the Tate, the MoMA in New York and the MACBA in Barcelona.<\/div>
