At the end of the Reading the Region Research Residency<\/em> of artists Marcus Kaiser and Kaya Erdin\u00e7, we invite you to a program in the park of the Ludwig Forum on Saturday, June 21 from 2 pm: After a brief introduction and a guided tour through the park, author and gardener Kaya Erdin\u00e7 will read his text A Silent Shtil<\/em>. The reading will be followed by a concert by artist and cellist Marcus Kaiser with artist and clarinettist Germaine Sijstermans. Please find further information on the program below.<\/p>

Both artists Marcus Kaiser (b. 1967 in T\u00fcbingen) and Kaya Erdin\u00e7 (b. 1994 in Maastricht) have been working as Reading the Region Research Residency<\/em> fellows at Greylight Projects in Heerlen (NL) since March this year. The program, a collaboration between Ludwig Forum Aachen and Greylight Projects Heerlen as part of the Very Contemporary network, brings together artists for a three-month residency focused on engaging with the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. The residency encourages artistic research, exchange, and public dialogue, with each artist introducing their work through public events. This year’s Reading the Region Research Residencies<\/em> focused on gardening. This theme served Marcus Kaiser and Kaya Erdin\u00e7as a starting point for their research into ecological, social and philosophical issues.<\/p>

Reading the Region<\/em> is a program by Very Contemporary, a network of contemporary art venues in the Meuse-Rhine Euregion. Very Contemporary encourages deep engagement with the region’s cultural, social, and ecological landscape and fosters cross-border dialogue and collaboration.
