For Paula Erstmann, food is an artistic medium she uses to initiate dialogue with her audience. What stories do the food we eat tell us? And, indeed, what about the cutlery and dishes, the tablecloth and the table at which we eat? What collective memories are prompted? Interested in the origins and contexts of ingredients and recipes, in the associations triggered by tastes and the possibilities for participation created by eating together, the culinary work of the Berlin-based artist opens up sensory and social spaces.
As part of the exhibition program accompanying Terrestrial Perspectives, the artist invites to take part in a culinary intervention in the park of the Ludwig Forum Aachen.
